ikau kir iehu mnu mwrIAY ikau kir imrqku hoie ]

kio kar eihu man maareeai kio kar mirathak hoe ||

How can this mind be conquered? How can it be killed?

kehiaa sabadh n maanee houmai shhaddai n koe ||

If one does not accept the Word of the Shabad, egotism does not depart.

gurprswdI haumY CutY jIvn mukqu so hoie ]

gur parasaadhee houmai shhuttai jeevan mukath so hoe ||

By Guru's Grace, egotism is eradicated, and then, one is Jivan Mukta - liberated while yet alive.
