Virtues in a Gurmukh

lIhw AMdir clIAY ijau gwfI rwhu ]

leehaa andari chaleeai jiu gaadee raahu.

As, a coach on the highway goes through the beaten tracks,

hukim rjweI clxw swDsMgu inbwhu ]

houkami rajaaee chalanaa saadhasangi nibaahu.

In the holy congregation one goes on abiding with the divine ordinance (hukam) and will of the Lord.

ijau Dn soGw rKdw Gir AMdir swhu ]

jiu dhan soghaa rakhadaa ghari andari saahu.

As, the wise person keeps money intact at home

ijau imrjwd n CfeI swieru Asgwhu ]

jiu mirajaad n chhadaee saairu asagaahu.

And the deep ocean leaves not its general nature;

lqw hyiT lqwVIAY Ajrwvr Gwhu ]

lataa haytdi lataarheeai ajaraavaru ghaahu.

As the grass is trampled under the feet,

Drmswl hY mwnsr hMs gurisK vwhu ]

dharamasaal hai maanasaru hans gurasikh vaahu.

Like this (earth) inn is the Manasarovar and the disciples of the Guru are swans

ratan padaarad gur sabadu kari keeratanu khaahu ||14||

Who in the form of kirtan, singing of the holy hymns, eat the pearls of the Word of the Guru.
