Oneness of the Guru and the Sikh

gur isKu isKu gur soie AlKu lKwieAw ]

gur sikhu sikhu gur soi alakhu lakhaaiaa.

Being one with each other the Guru and the Sikh have made the Lord perceptible (in the form of Guru).

gur dIiKAw lY isK isKu sdwieAw ]

gur deekhiaa lai sikhi sikhu sadaaiaa.

Getting initiated by the Guru the disciple has become a Sikh.

gur isK ie`ko hoie jo gur BwieAw ]

gur sikh iko hoi jo gur bhaaiaa.

It was the Lord’s desire that the Guru and the disciple would become one.

hIrw kxI proie hIru ibDwieAw ]

heeraa kanee paroi heeru bidhaaiaa.

It seems as if the diamond cutting the diamond has brought the other one in one string;

jl qrMgu Avloie sill smwieAw ]

jal tarangu avaloi salil samaaiaa.

Or the wave of water has merged in water, or the light of one lamp has come to reside in another lamp.

joqI joiq smoie dIpu dIpwieAw ]

jotee joti samoi deepu deepaaiaa.

The wondrous deed (of the Lord) seems to have been transformed into a parable.

Acrj Acrju Foie cilqu bxwieAw ]

acharaj acharaju ddhoi chalitu banaaiaa.

It is as if the sacred ghee has been produced after churning the curd.

duDhuN dhI ivloie Gyau kFwieAw ]

dudhahu dahee viloi ghiu kaddhaaiaa.

The One Light has scattered in all the three worlds.

iek cwnxu iqRhu loie pRgtI AwieAw ]11]

iku chaananu trihu loi pragateeaaiaa ||11||

It is as if the sacred ghee has been produced after churning the curd. The
