When His (Guru's) arrival time came closer, I lost control of the reins of the pains of separation,

dhihaem thaa bakujaa sharehaa dhaasathaan firaak || 49 || 1 ||
and what transpired in my mind after this is a sad story; (49) (1)

n boodh ghair thoo dhar har dho chashamae abarooeaema
There is no one else in my eyes and eyebrows except you, the Guru,
n Xw&qym drW jw idgr inSwin i&rwk ] 49 ] 2 ]
n yaafathaem dharaan jaa dhigar nishaan firaak || 49 || 2 ||
That is why I did not any sign of separation, except myself. (49) (2)
hnUz ihjr inAwlUdw bUd vsil qurw
hanooz hijar niaaloodhaa boodh vasal thuraa
The (pains of) 'separation' has not yet realized the (euphoria of) 'meeting',

shaneedhaaeim sukhan vasal az zabaan firaak || 49 || 3 ||
I have been hearing stories about 'oneness and meeting' from 'separation'. (49) (3)
cunW iz ihjrq AwiqS i&qwdw dr idil mn
chunaan z hijarath aathish fithaadhaa dhar dhil mana
Ever since your 'separation' stoked such a fire in my heart, flaring it up
ik brik nwlwie mn so^q ^winmwin i&rwk ] 49 ] 4 ]
k barak naalaae man sokhath khaanimaan firaak || 49 || 4 ||
That my wails and supplications fell on the abode of 'separation' (like a lightening) and burnt it down to ashes. (49) (4)

ch karadhaa-sath firaak thoo bar sar goyaa
Disunion from you has put Goyaa in such an unusual state of mind

k dhar shumaar niaaeidh maraa biaan firaak || 49 || 5 ||
that he has related this painful saga continuously so many times that there is no count to it and my thought stands still. (49) (5)
