maa k khudh har bandhaae hak raa khudhaa fehimeedhaa eaema

Goyaa says, I have recognized every human being created by God as God Himself,

khosheethan raa bandhaae een bandhaahaa fehimeedhaa eaem || 54 || 1 ||

And, I consider myself a slave (servant) of all these slaves of Truth. (54) (1)

mrdumwin cSim mw rw eyhiqAwij surmw nIsq

maradhumaan chasham maa raa eaehathiaaj suramaa neesatha

My eyelids do not need any type of collyrium for existence,

bsik ^wik rwih mrdum qUqIAw &ihmIdw eym ] 54 ] 2 ]

basak khaak raahi maradhum thootheeaa fehimeedhaa eaem || 54 || 2 ||

Because, I have always considered the dust of the path traversed by God's men as the apt collyrium.? (54) (2)

har nafas sar bar zameen dhaaraem az behirae sajoodha

We prostrate our head on the ground in prayers every moment and breath,

zaan k rooe yaar khudh noor khudhaa fehimeedhaa eaem || 54 || 3 ||

Because, we have considered the face of our beloved reflecting the refulgence of Almighty. (54) (3)

bwdSwhW rw &kIrW bwdSwhI dwdw AMd

baadhashaahaan raa fakeeraan baadhashaahee dhaadhaa andha

God's holy men, the saints, have bestowed the kingdoms to the worldly kings,

zW gdwie kUie aU rw bwdSwh &ihmIdw eym ] 54 ] 4 ]

zaan gadhaae kooe oo raa baadhashaah fehimeedhaa eaem || 54 || 4 ||

That is why I consider the noble souls (even lowly mendicants) in the street (abode) of my Beloved (Guru) as the kings (54) (4)

maa namee khaahaem mulako maal raa goyaa azaana

Goyaa says, I have absolutely no desire or value for wealth and property, O Guru!

saaeiaae zulaf thuraa baal humaa fehimeedhaa eaem || 54 || 5 ||

Because, I have considered a shadow of a lock of your hair as the feather of Humaa, the Phoenix, the mythical bird whose shadow is supposed to bring luck. (54) (5)
