Guru and disciple
gur cyly rhrwis AlKu AByau hY ]
guru chaylay raharaasi alakhu abhayu hai.
The ways of the Guru and the disciple are mysterious and imperceptible.

guru chaylay saabaasi naanak dayu hai.
Guru (Nanak) and disciple (Angad) both are blest (because both have merged into each other).
gurmiq shij invwsu isPiq smyau hY ]
guramati sahaji nivaasu sidhati samayu hai.
Their abode is the wisdom of Guru and they both are rapt in the praises of the Lord.

sabadi surati paragaas achhal achhayu hai.
Enlightened with the Word their consciousness has become infinite and immutable.
gurmuiK Aws inrws miq ArKyau hY ]
guramoukhi aas niraas mati arakhayu hai.
Transcending all hopes they have assimilated subtle wisdom in their person.
kwm kroD ivxwsu isPiq smyau hY ]
kaam karodh vinaasu sidhati samayu hai.
Conquering the lust and anger they have absorbed themselves in the praises (of God).
siq sMqoK aulws skiq n syau hY ]
sati santokh ulaas sakati n sayu hai.
Beyond the abodes of Siva and Sakti they have reached the abode of truth, contentment and bliss.

ghar hee vichi udaasu sachu souchayu hai.
Being indifferent to household (pleasures) they are truth-oriented.

veeh ikeeh abhiaasu gur sikh dayu hai ||2||
The Guru and disciple have now attain the ratio of twenty and twenty One, i.e.the disciple has gone ahead of the Guru.
